John Gellar wins IWSM award
Jonatan Gellar won the best student paper award at the 28th International Workshop on Statistical Modeling that took place in Palermo, Italy between July 8th and 12th, 2013. Jon's paper was about the association between survival times conditional on functional exposures.
We were also represented by Elizabeth Sweeney and Jiawei Bai, who both gave excellent presentations and left an excellent impression. IWSM is one of the most important conference in Statistics in Europe and was attended by more than 200 researchers from USA, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, France, Ireland, Brazil, Chile, and UK.
Next year the workshop will be held in Goettingen, Germany, the city were Carl Friedrich Gauss (remember gaussianity?) went to school and was a Professor of Astronomy.
